Custodial dad accused of hitting teen daughter with tee bat (Clarksville, Tennessee)

Custodial dad HAROLD SINCLAIR HUMPHREY has been charged with aggravated domestic assault for hitting his teenage daughter in the head and arm with an aluminum tee baseball bat, and with slapping and punching her following an "argument" (it's not an "argument" if one person assaults another--you'd think that reporters would get this by now). Dad is out on only $500 bail.

Note that this is a custodial father--it's recorded that the daughter had been living with him, and called her mother on a cell phone for help. Another case of an abuser getting custody?

Father accused of hitting daughter with tee bat
By TAVIA D. GREEN • The Leaf-Chronicle • March 26, 2010

A Clarkville father was arrested Wednesday on accusations he hit his teenage daughter with a tee bat.

Harold Sinclair Humphrey was arrested after Clarksville Police responded to the Gateway Medical Center Emergency Room to investigate a 17-year-old girl who had possible arm and head injuries, and said her father had assaulted her with an aluminum tee baseball bat, and slapped and punched her following an argument, the report said.

The teen’s mother said she was called from a cell phone after the girl left her father’s apartment where she was living, the report said.

The tee ball bat was placed into evidence. The officer said he did not observe any injuries to the teen’s face or arm.

Humphrey did not write a statement, but did tell police he picked up the bat to threaten his daughter.

Humphrey, 59, who gave a 134 W. Concord Dr. address, was charged with aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $500.
