Dad uses 3-year-old child as shield, hit by police taser (Olathe, Kansas)

Oh, these Drama Daddies like JASON P. TROXEL. Just can't man up and let yourself be served with a protection order (which looks like it was sorely needed in retrospect). Nope, we had to ramp this up to Big Time Police Theater! And take our poor, traumatized 3-year-old son as a hostage/human shield! Thus proving why somebody might, just might need a protection order against your crazy @$$.

This reminds me of a very similar case in Michigan: http://dastardlydads.blogspot.com/2010/09/dad-gets-jail-after-using-2-year-old.html

Father Uses Child As Shield, Hit By Police Taser
2:24 p.m. CST, February 15, 2011

OLATHE, Kan. — A three-year-old child was hit by a Taser after his father used him as a shield during his arrest, officials said on Tuesday. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department was serving a protection order for the child in the 800 block of Lindenwood in Olathe.

The child's father, Jason P. Troxel, grabbed the child and ran from the home. When deputies chased Troxel, he fell to the ground and a deputy used their Taser. The Taser hit the child in the legs. Deputies were able to take the child from Troxel and tackled him, using the Taser again.

The child was taken to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries and released to his mother's custody.

Troxel was arrested and booked into jail on a civil contempt warrant and additional charges of endangering a child, obstruction of justice and fleeing and eluding.
