Dad pleads guilty ot child abuse homicide charge (Cedar City, Utah)

We've reported on dad ANDY ROY GORECKI before. Just another father who couldn't handle infant care? Sort of. He was also a registered sex offender, according to previous news accounts. So what the hell was he doing caring for a baby??? Not one of the previous articles posted at Dastardly Dads mentions where the mother was. Not one.

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

CEDAR CITY - The father of an infant who died in September 2010, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a first-degree felony child abuse homicide charge in 5th District Court.

Andy Roy Gorecki, 27, of Cedar City, was originally charged with aggravated assault after his nearly 3-month-old son was taken to the hospital foaming at the nose, not breathing and pale.

The infant was transported to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City before moving to a long-term care facility. The infant was taken off life support Sept. 29, 2010, and subsequent autopsy reports showed the cause of death to be complications from a head injury. The cause of death was then listed as homicide, and the charge against Gorecki was then raised to a first-degree felony.

Gorecki's attorney Jack Burns said because of the nature of the case, which will include expert testimony witnesses, the trial could take up to three days.

The date for the trial has not yet been set. If convicted, Gorecki could face 15 years to life in prison.
