Another clueless daddy...TERRANCE MCMULLEN THREW a 4-month-old baby up into the air in order to calm him? WTF? The fact that this father then left the injured baby and walked away shows that this is MORE than clueless....Are we really sure this was an accident?

A Harrisburg father is charged Wednesday night with harming his own infant son.

Apparently in an effort to calm his crying, four month old boy, this father did what other fathers have likely done. He tossed him up into the air.

Except, the child's head hit a door frame and he suffered a fractured skull.

Harrisburg police have charged 38-year-old Terrance McMullen with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering a person, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators tell CBS 21 News McMullen was alone with his son at the boy's mother's home in the 1300 block of South 13th Street. When the boy began crying, the dad reportedly tossed the child in the air to calm him, but accidentally hit the child's head on a door frame.

He then placed the child on a bed, closed the door and walked away. The child’s mother and grandmother then came home to find the child and took him to the hospital.

Police tell us although this may have been an accident, the father needs to be more careful.

“Sometimes a little common sense can go a long way,” said one officer. “Though you may love your child, protect your child and care for your child, things such as this, tossing your child into the air, especially a four-month-old infant, can be very dangerous as we see right now.”

McMullen has posted bond and is out of jail. He will have a court hearing later this month.
