Dad on trial for suffocation murder of 5-month-old son; was "upset" about watching baby "too much" (Bolinbrook, Illinois)

Boo hoo. Poor dad RANDEL THOMAS was "upset" because he had to watch the baby "too much." Notice this deadbeat was too lazy to drive Mom to school. In fact, I don't see any evidence here that Daddy was working or had any other responsibilities at all. But that dang baby kept interrupting his sleep! So Daddy "allegedly" suffocated him and killed him, AND THEN DAD TOOK A NAP.

Will County prosecutors say a Bolingbrook man accused in the 2009 death of his 5-month-old son killed the child because his crying disturbed the father's sleep.

Randel Thomas is charged with killing Christopher Thomas after refusing to drive the boy's mother to school because he was tired.

The child's mother, Josalyn Jones, testified Tuesday that Thomas was upset he had to watch the boy too much.

Prosecutors accuse the 21-year-old Thomas of pushing the child's head onto a bed.

In her opening statement, Assistant State's Attorney Anna Rossi said Thomas pushed down the child's head when he started crying until the baby stopped breathing. She added Thomas then took a nap.

In his opening statement, defense attorney Chris Rouskey said it's unclear how the baby suffocated.
