Custodial dad arrested for beating 11-year-old son with a stick (Narok North, Kenya)

Notice that UNNAMED DAD is identified as a "single father" who had custody. Daddy says Mom "ran away." Whenever violent men claim these things, caution is advised. Did Mom "run away" or was she driven away by the father's violence? Did Daddy take her child away from her to "punish" her? All these are behaviors are commonly seen with child abusing fathers.

Never take an abusive criminal at his word. These guys are chronic liars.

Father arrested for 'disciplining' son

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2012 - 00:00 -- BY KIPLANG&;#039...

A middle-aged man was yesterday arrested at Enaibelbel in Narok North after he allegedly beat and injured his 11-year-old son. The suspect is accused of hurting the boy on his face, arms and the back. He is alleged to have beaten his son using a stick.

Narok district children officer Julius Ngoko said the single father of three claimed he was disciplining the boy following a neighbour's complaints that the boy had stolen his money.

Ngoko said that the man pleaded with him to pardon him saying his wife had run away leaving him to take care of the children. He said that child abuse was rampant in the area and added that ignorance of the law is no longer a defense mechanism.

The children officer cautioned parents to be careful when punishing their children because the law is not lenient anyone. The boy was taken to Narok District hospital before being taken to PCEA boys children’s home for temporary stay.
