Dad charged with assaulting mom in front of child (Augusta, Georgia)

The parents are obviously not married and do not live together. Notice that Mom and her brother were both assaulted after they WENT TO THE FATHER'S HOME with the child in tow.

Hmm. Wonder if this is another one of those court-mandated visitation situations, where the mother brought along another adult for added protection. Of course, WHY the mother went to the father's house is not explained or even brought up here....

An Augusta man faces charges after being accused of holding his child’s mother at knife-point Sunday.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew, Janine Henley, 30, of North Augusta, and her brother, Dominik Henley, 23, of Beech Island, were attacked after they went to the home of Henley’s child’s father on Dewitt Street.

Police said Janine Henley was arguing with Eddie Raymond Bennett, 42, when Bennett began choking her and put a knife to her throat. In his attempts to help his sister, Dominik Henley suffered cuts to his leg, police said.

Police said Bennett and Henley’s child witnessed the assault.

Bennett was booked into the Richmond County jail on charges of cruelty to children in the third degree and two counts of aggravated assault.
